Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service, health, wellbeing, connection and belonging, residential living, food services, sports, recreation, career services, and student activities. We support roughly 25,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on multiple campuses in the U.S. and abroad. Cornell Health’s Medical Services is a collaborative, innovative inter‑professional department that provides holistic clinical care to address students’ biopsychosocial needs. The NP/PAs provide direct ambulatory primary patient care, prescribing psychotropic medications when clinically indicated, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and educators to support students’ developmental, educational, social, and academic aspects of life. Responsibilities Act as a positive contributor to a team‑based, inter‑professional environment with an innovative, collaborative, improvement‑oriented culture. Work independently, yet collaboratively, in managing the caseload. Handle sensitive and confidential information with skill. Keep current on best practices for providing health care to a campus community in a primary care model within a biopsychosocial framework. Foster strong working relationships with all Cornell Health staff. Support a culture of belonging and a psychologically healthy work environment by communicating across differences, being cooperative, collaborative, open, and welcoming, showing respect, compassion, and empathy, engaging and supporting others regardless of background or perspective, speaking up against exclusion or inappropriate treatment, and supporting work/life integration. Required Qualifications Advance Practice Nurse with current NYS license (or license‑eligible), BC/BE in primary care or another appropriate specialty. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and an accredited nurse practitioner program. Current license to practice as a nurse practitioner in NYS. A master’s degree in a clinical specialty or equivalent experience. AANP/ANCC or nurse practitioner certification required within one year of employment. Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current registration to practice as a Physician Assistant in NYS. CPR‑BLS level certification achieved within one year of employment and maintained biannually, as applicable. 2–3 years of clinical experience. Excellent interpersonal skills with knowledge and direct experience working with a diverse and multicultural population. Knowledge and use of an electronic health record management system. Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, eq. Experience working directly with people from various socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications Interest in and concern for health problems encountered in a campus community. Additional Information This is an ongoing, 10‑month, 32‑hour per week position. The pay range for this position is $85,095–$91,175. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
