Key Qualifications:

• Minimum 4.0 on Paraprofessional Certification
• Fluent in American Sign Language with recent, relevant experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, educators, and families
• Previous experience in a school or educational environment is highly valued
• Compassionate, patient, and resourceful approach to individualized instruction and support
• Ability to commit to a 32.5 hour work week for the duration of the assignment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student, both inside and outside the classroom
• Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and staff using ASL
• Assist with classroom activities, assignments, and adaptations to ensure full access to the curriculum
• Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Monitor and report progress, challenges, and achievements to the educational team
• Foster a positive, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment
