Registered Dietitian Nutritionist – Private Practice (Clinical and Eating Disorder Nutrition) Nutrition Studio is a private group nutrition practice located in Portland, Oregon that provides compassionate nutrition counseling to a wide variety of clients. We serve in person in Portland and provide telehealth in Oregon and Washington. Our model is based on providing individualized and evidence‑based nutrition guidance to all people, while making support easy to access. Position Category : Clinical Dietitian Salary Range : $45–60 per hour Starting Date : Flexible, between 5/18 and 6/1 Location : Portland Metro Area; must be willing to commute to our shared offices in inner SE or inner NE Portland at least two days per week. A fully virtual position is possible for the right fit, provided the candidate lives in the Pacific Northwest. Position Details Part‑time at first, with opportunity to work full‑time once caseload is full. Expect a maximum of 30‑40 hours per week within 3–4 months. Competitive hourly pay based on client‑facing hours plus paid administrative time (emails, networking, charting, etc.). Flexible hours: must be willing to work until 6 pm at least two days per week and ideally start at 8 am at least two days per week. See clients in person from one of our two shared offices two days per week; must have a private, quiet, HIPAA‑compliant space to work from home. Collaborate with business owner and colleagues; weekly mentoring meetings as needed and monthly team meetings. Job Responsibilities Provide highly individualized nutrition counseling. Assess, diagnose, create interventions, monitor and evaluate clients’ needs. Create recipe collections and meal plans, considering clients’ preferences, relationship to food, access, cooking skills, and allergies. Determine frequency of visits, document progress, and make clinical decisions and adjustments as needed. Deliver easy-to-digest, relatable nutrition education that is evidence‑based. Collaborate with clinic owner and colleagues on case consults, meetings, etc. Maintain timely and meticulous records; finish chart notes by the end of the work day or the next morning. Use practice management software (Kalix), Google Drive, and other work‑enhancing platforms. Engage in networking and represent our practice within the professional referral community. Stay up to date with nutrition science and best practices. Be open to feedback and guidance from the clinic owner when appropriate. Use the Nutrition Care Process and Medical Nutrition Therapy confidently. Create educational handouts, recipe collections, and meal ideas. For eating disorder dietitians: implement various treatment approaches such as FBT, CBT, ERP, DBT, meal planning, exchanges, etc. For clinical dietitians: interpret labs, recommend supplements or adjunct therapies, implement nutrition interventions for multiple complex health‑related comorbidities. Minimum Qualifications Resides in the Portland or Vancouver Metro Area and willing to commute to an office at least two days per week. Fully virtual position possible for the right fit, but must live in the Pacific Northwest. Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Science or a related field. Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) in good standing with the Commission for Registered Dietitians. Licensed in Oregon; licensed in Washington or willing to become licensed. General knowledge of Motivational Interviewing principles. Weight inclusive, HAES aligned, and gender‑affirming provider. Able to work with adult clients over 18. Provide nutrition support to clients with limited resources and unpredictable access to food. Able to work with comorbid conditions other than eating disorders, or screen for eating disorders and refer appropriately. Responsible for conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, liver disease, IBS, IBD, inflammation, PCOS, and menopause. Desired Qualifications Master’s Degree in Nutrition Science or related field. Certified Dietitian in Washington State. Willingness to do educational grocery store tours. Able to work with pediatric and teenage clients. Confidence reviewing lab work and making supplement recommendations.
