The Buyer will play a crucial role in ensuring that the organization maintains optimal stock levels while minimizing costs. Duties:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors to secure the best possible terms.
- Manage the procurement process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely receipt of goods.
- Collaborate with various departments, including logistics and inventory management, to forecast demand and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Utilize ERP systems for tracking orders, managing inventory, and analyzing purchasing data.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality or delivery.
- Stay updated on industry trends, e-commerce developments, and changes in supply chain dynamics to optimize purchasing strategies.
- Metal Materials experience in sourcing and procurement within a supply chain environment required.
- Strong knowledge of logistics processes and inventory management principles.
- Familiarity AS400 systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong vendor relationships.
- Ability to analyze data effectively to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
