Public Health Center-Administration 200 South Post Rd Shelby, NC 28152 Job Summary This position is responsible for organizing and implementing the Local Health Department Accreditation process required by the State of North Carolina on a four‑year cycle, and for coordinating marketing and social media activities for all programs/services offered by the Consolidated Health and Human Services Agency (CHSA). The role also represents Cleveland County at community events and health fairs to educate the community about available programs/services and promote positive public relations. Some evening and weekend work may be required based on educational and community events. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Design and coordinate all intentional marketing for programs/services offered by CHSA, including social media, website, newsletter, printable marketing materials, and mass marketing channels such as billboards, newspaper ads, and online/streaming formats. Build relationships with community partners to promote programs/services and engage a higher proportion of county residents in wellness activities. Coordinate and support employee recognition programs and initiatives, including monthly employee spotlights. Provide general support for activities involving the health education/health promotion unit as needed (e.g., presentations to individuals and groups throughout the county, community engagement through targeted presentations, participation in community‑based coalitions and councils). Serve as the Agency Accreditation Coordinator, overseeing all agency accreditation policies and procedures, scheduling activities and tracking systems, and completing annual checklists to show compliance with accreditation standards. Establish a work plan for accreditation and meet regularly with program staff to review applicable program standards, coordinate meetings with local and state accreditation teams, and maintain an online dashboard for submission and review of evidence required for accreditation. Ensure all benchmarks and activities are completed and submitted by required due dates. Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in public health administration, marketing, public relations, business administration, or communications, plus 3 years of experience in marketing, public relations, resource coordination, social media outreach, public health education, or public health promotions. Alternatively, 2 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for 1 year of required education. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to organize and implement a four‑year agency‑wide accreditation process with internal and external partners. Ability to maintain an information dashboard to track accreditation progress and ensure compliance with benchmarks. Competency in developing and implementing marketing programs using multiple media formats. Knowledge of methods and techniques for preparing and disseminating educational information. Proficiency in preparing graphic materials, exhibits, and visual aids. Strong oral and written communication skills. Problem‑solving ability within scope of responsibility. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, educational and community organizations, and peers. Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to organize and direct activities for a variety of audiences. Ability to plan and carry out evaluation processes. Work Environment / Physical Requirements The work environment is a moderately noisy business office. Occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force may be required. The position requires speaking, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, using hands, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing or pulling, repetitive motions, and vocal communication. Written or computer data preparation and analysis, operating motor vehicles or equipment, and observing general surroundings are also required. License & Certifications Valid driver's license and insurable driving record. Work Location The role must work from the location identified at the time of hire and travel is required as needed. Any change of work location, even on a short‑term or interim basis, must be reviewed by the supervisor and HR for approval. Compensation $26.07 per hour. Compensation will be based on experience.
