Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of ICU/stepdown experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• 12-bed ICU setting
• 1:4 patient ratios
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to like units/sister facilities as needed, with agency staff floated first
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU and/or stepdown experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team involvement
• Experience with wound care and isolation precautions/PPE
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing services to ICU patients requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions
• Royal blue scrub color required
• May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
• First-time travelers accepted if they have prior ICU and/or stepdown experience
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates within 60 miles are not accepted; non-local candidates are prioritized
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
