Human Resources Assistant

Human Resources Assistant Assist human resources managers and representatives and compile, maintain and process information relating to staffing, recruitment, training, performance evaluations and clarifications. Responsibility includes employment, insurance, Workers' Compensation and other human resource documentation; maintaining records on sick leave, vacation and other absences; handling personnel‑related inquiries and reference checks; and compiling statistics for management. Performance Expectations Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility’s geographic location. Adhere to the Global Operating System Plays. Follow OHSAS 18001:2007 Health and Safety management system standard. Follow ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management system standard. Follow TS 16949 Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics system standards. Support, foster, promote and demonstrate Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors. Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar’s Stepping Stool of Success Strategy. Support and maintain department lean initiatives as set out in LPS system requirements. Maintain department 5S requirements. Coordinate the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of employees to fill vacant positions. Plan for hiring needs by continually interviewing potential candidates. Perform training needs analysis utilizing the employee database. Coordinate and monitor training programs. Coordinate and monitor performance evaluation packages for employees and track progress for management using spreadsheets and charts. Prepare and post all internal and inter‑company job postings. Prepare orientation packages for new hires, transfers, promotions and terminations. Maintain employee files. Record attendance in InfoHR system. Maintain InfoHR system. Shift rotation and/or split shifts required. Generate monthly personnel and HR reports. Credentials Essential Skills: Reading 5, Document Use 3, Numeracy 3. 2–3 years of Human Resources Administration experience preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset. Knowledge and experience with training processes an asset. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Demonstrated organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
