Resident Assistant (RA)Southern Oaks Place – Blaine, MNSouthern Oaks Place is seeking caring and dependable Resident Assistants (RA) to join our team and support residents with daily living needs while promoting dignity, comfort, and meaningful engagement.This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping others, building relationships, and working in a supportive senior living environment. As a Resident Assistant, you will provide hands-on care and assist with daily activities while working closely with nursing leadership and fellow team members to ensure residents feel safe, respected, and valued. POSITION SUMMARYThe Resident Assistant provides direct personal care and support to residents according to individualized care plans and delegated nursing tasks. This position focuses on assisting residents with activities of daily living, engagement, and safety while maintaining a respectful and compassionate approach.This role does not include medication administration. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESResident Care & Daily LivingAssist residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, hygiene, meals, and incontinence careSupport safe transfers and proper positioning using trained techniques and equipmentProvide meal setup, cueing, and feeding assistance as neededResident Engagement & ActivitiesEncourage participation in social and recreational activitiesAssist residents in attending activities and community eventsProvide one-on-one engagement for residents who cannot join group activitiesHelp lead or support activities when assignedDocumentation & CommunicationComplete required documentation for care tasks and observationsCommunicate changes in resident condition or safety concerns promptlyParticipate in shift handoffs and provide updates to nursing leadershipCare Plan & Delegation ComplianceFollow individualized care plans and delegated nursing instructionsPerform tasks only within assigned scope and trainingReport any concerns or discrepancies to nursing leadershipHousekeeping, Laundry & Meal SupportPerform light housekeeping such as making beds and tidying resident roomsComplete resident laundry as assignedAssist with dining room setup, service, and cleanupSafety & MonitoringFollow infection control, safety, and emergency proceduresMaintain resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all timesObserve and report changes in condition, appetite, mobility, or skin integrityPerform delegated monitoring tasks such as vital signs or weights as assignedProfessional Conduct & TrainingInteract respectfully with residents, families, and coworkersMaintain professional appearance and behaviorComplete required training and competenciesParticipate in meetings and ongoing educationPromote a positive and supportive team culture QUALIFICATIONSRequired:Ability to provide hands-on personal care and supportStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to work collaboratively with residents, families, and care teamsAbility to use electronic documentation systemsAbility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduledAbility to meet physical demands of the role (standing, walking, lifting up to 75 lbs)Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (reasonable accommodations considered)Preferred:Experience in senior living, assisted living, memory care, or long-term careExperience with electronic health records or care documentation systemsExperience working with individuals with cognitive impairment or dementia WORK ENVIRONMENTResident -centered senior living communityIndoor care and shared community spacesModerate noise and activity levelsExposure to cleaning chemicals and bodily fluids may occurOn-site work with rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays WHY JOIN OUR TEAM?Meaningful work making a difference in residents' livesSupportive and collaborative team environmentTraining and growth opportunitiesA role where compassion and teamwork are valuedOpportunity to build strong relationships with residents and families READY TO APPLY?If you are caring, reliable, and looking for a rewarding role in senior care, we encourage you to apply today.Join our team and help create a community where residents feel safe, respected, and at home.
