Job Title COMPANION Objective To provide care giving services and to help clients maintain their independence and to assist them with household and family support services. Reports To Scheduling Coordinator Primary Responsibilities Companionship & conversation Light Housekeeping Household management Errands Apparel selection (laying out clothes) Meal planning & preparation Laundry & linen changing Medication reminders Transportation using client’s or your own vehicle In sleep-over or live in situations: prepare client sleeping area at night Document activities in the Daily Documentation Log (if applicable). Record daily hours worked and daily services performed on the Weekly Time Sheet, review with client and submit the signed form every Monday by 1:00 p.m. Report any significant client changes to the office immediately. Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Senior Helpers Employee Handbook and Training Manual. Qualifications Education: High School graduate Must be 18 years of age or over Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect Ability to read, write and speak English at an average adult level Ability to drive vehicle to get to work Valid driver’s license with no serious driving violations; current care insurance. Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations and locations Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push or pull up to 25 pounds Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb steps Ability to withstand exposure to dust, mold, mildew and cleaning solutions Ability to adapt to various environments and locations Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner.
