This position will play a critical role in advancing the Preservation of the Forces and Family (POTFF) program, which is dedicated to optimizing and sustaining the mission readiness, longevity, and performance of Special Operations Forces (SOF). Through integrated and holistic human performance initiatives, POTFF strengthens both the Forces and their families, ensuring comprehensive support for those who serve. As a Psychometrist, you will contribute to impactful research and analytics that drive evidence-based decision-making and enhance the effectiveness of these vital programs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of SOF personnel and their families while working in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.This position utilizes standardized neuropsychological, intelligence, personality testing, and interview skills to evaluate and screen patients for presenting problems and appointment priority. The Psychometrist assists providers in identifying mental health diagnoses, treatment strategies, and supporting specialized treatment and rehabilitation for brain-injured and mental health patients. Additionally, Psychometrists observe and report patient interactions, institute precautionary safety measures, coordinate with military and community agencies, explain neuropsychological services, and facilitate patient referrals for alternate levels of care across the SOCOM enterprise.ResponsibilitiesPerform assigned assessment procedures under the direct supervision of a credentialed privileged psychologist, operational psychologist, or neuropsychologistUtilize therapeutic assessment and interview skills to elicit accurate and concise account of the patient's conditionScreen patients to determine presenting problems and priority of appointmentPerform basic assessment procedures, including initial screening evaluation and standardized neuropsychological, intelligence, and personality testingConduct assessment and selection in large group settings as well as on an individual basisAssist credentialed providers with identifying mental health diagnosis and treatment strategies, as well as providing patient educationUnderstand suitability requirements for the different units across the SOCOM enterpriseAssist in providing specialized treatment and rehabilitation of brain injured and mental health patientsObserve, monitor, report, and record patient interaction during assessment sessionsInstitute precautionary measures to prevent patient injuries due to suicide, homicide, or elopementCoordinate with other military agencies and MTFs regarding specialized care, treatment, and administrative functionsContact military or community agencies to obtain collateral informationExplain and interpret neuropsychological services and procedures to access care to patients and commandsAssist in or arrange for patient referral to other facilities for alternate level of careKey QualificationsBachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, or in a behavioral science related fieldCertified by the Board of Certified Psychometrists (BCP)At least one year of full-time experience during the preceding three years in the performance of psychological and/or neuropsychological testing and test scoring. The BCP may be waived if one year of full-time experience was under the supervision of an Operational Psychologist.Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) from the American Heart Association, with documentation providedProficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and AccessExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearanceBenefits: Live an Extraordinary Life We care about your well-being, not just on the job.
