Your work will focus on training on machinery, performing manual tasks, and learning safety procedures to be followed each day. As a PennDOT CDL Operator Trainee, you will perform the following duties:Equipment Training: Train to operate heavy trucks, loaders, and other construction equipment while completing required safety checksTool Use: Use hand tools and motorized tools such as shovels, chain saws, tampers, and patching machines during maintenance workSafety Awareness: Follow proper safety procedures, make observations, and report hazards or injuries to protect yourself and othersWorksite Support: Assist crews with manual labor tasks needed for highway and bridge maintenance projectsEnvironmental Practices: Carry out environmental protection steps and complete training requirements related to maintenance activitiesInterested in learning more?
