Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Telemetry Intermediate)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) | Every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 26-bed Telemetry Intermediate unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5
• Monitor and manage patients with common diagnoses including CHF, COVID pneumonia, atrial fibrillation with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope
• Administer and monitor telemetry-related medications including Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitroglycerin under central telemetry monitoring
• Manage patients on BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and Vapotherm (no ventilator management required)
• Document patient care using EPIC EMR; nursing staff does not mix medications
• Float to other units as needed, maintaining the same patient ratio of 1:5

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Ability to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
• Availability to work every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and every other holiday

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a telemetry, intermediate care, PCU, or stepdown unit setting
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR
• Experience caring for cardiac patients including those with atrial fibrillation, CHF, and syncope-related diagnoses
