Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

PCU RN – Float Pool

Schedule - Patient ratio: 1:5 (days/nights/weekends) - Weekend requirement: Minimum 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (combination F/S/S)

Assignment Details - Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks

Requirements - License: Missouri or Compact required; pending licenses not accepted - Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS - Preferred: ACLS - Experience: 1–2 years recent RN experience; 2 years in one field preferred - Key clinical skills: - Telemetry: on-unit cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation & management - Cardiovascular: pre/post cardiac cath care - Neuro: stroke care / NIH Stroke Scale - IV/lines: central line care, ports access, blood product administration - Feeding tube care, wound care, sepsis management - Experience with adult/geriatric patients in MS/Tele/Neuro stepdown

Roles & Responsibilities - Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring safety and comfort for patients. - Monitor and assess patient conditions, using telemetry and other monitoring equipment as necessary. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and implement treatment plans. - Educate patients and families about health conditions, medications, and post-discharge care. - Document patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Compliance / Notes - Orientation: 12 hours - Max RTO limit: 7 days (requests >7 require approval) - Pre-start modules: 10–15 hours total; due by Monday 1 week prior to start - Infusion pump and glucometer training: Complete by the Sunday prior to start - Charting system: Epic; EPIC training to be completed as instructed by facility
