NP/PA, Non-Surgical (Anesthesia/Pain Management)

Overview Location: Medical Center - Fort Worth Department: Anesthesiology Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 40 Summary: Provides expert comprehensive advanced patient care to pain management patients primarily in the outpatient setting but may include in-patients when deemed appropriate. Autonomously performs pain management assessments of all patients. Functions as part of a multi-disciplinary pain management team, collaborating with Anesthesiologists, NPs/PAs, RNs, Physical Therapists, psychophysiologist and other pain management personnel in safely assessing and treating the patient. Responsibilities Provide advanced, autonomous pain management assessments and patient care, primarily in outpatient settings, with potential inpatient responsibilities as appropriate. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary pain management team to assess and treat patients. Education and Experience Advanced Practice Registered Nurses: Master’s Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse; minimum 2 years pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred. Physician Assistants: Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies strongly preferred; minimum two years pediatric primary/specialty or acute care setting experience, or 2 years in a related allied health field with a heavy pediatric component strongly preferred. Certification and Licensure Advanced Practice Registered Nurses: Current Texas professional registered nurse license; current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license; recognition from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse; certification as Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner; current Basic Life Support (CPR) required; current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred. Physician Assistants: Current Texas professional physician assistant license; recognition from the Texas State Medical Board as a Physician Assistant; PA-C certification required; current Basic Life Support (CPR) required; current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred. * PALS certification is required when assigned to Anesthesiology, Care Team, Complex Care, Fostering Health, H/O, Nephrology, and Neurology departments.
