Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit requiring prior charge experience and circulating for C-sections.

Details

• High-risk Labor and Delivery unit averaging 2,100 deliveries per year
• Level 3 NICU in hospital, unit is not an LDRP
• Accepts MFM outpatient consultation transfer-ins, with OB managing patients
• Shift is Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am, 36 hours per week
• No call requirement
• Floating required to Maternity/Mother-Baby units
• Every other weekend required
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact) required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP; AWHONN Intermediate preferred
• 2+ years of L&D experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Circulating for C-sections required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Travel experience required, first-time travelers not considered
• Skilled in fetal monitoring, high-risk delivery assistance, and postpartum care of complex patients

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum services
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal and cesarean births, and neonatal care in the delivery room
• Perform fetal monitoring including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and IUPC placement
• Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• May float to ICU or ED for limited assignment task-type duties or 1:1 patient sitting
• Scrubs of any color are permitted
• Unit orientation includes 24 hours total, with one day for Healthstream and ideally two days on-unit orientation
• Travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and receive a rate adjustment
• Candidates who have previously worked at any facility associated with this health system are not eligible for consideration
