divh2Feeding Our Neighbors Program Support/h2pThe Feeding Our Neighbors (FON) Department provides emergency meals to individuals and families who face hunger and food insecurity throughout the Archdiocese of NY. Our goal is to provide healthy nutritious meals to anyone who is in need with compassion and dignity. This position will support the program operations and serve as alternate driver for the Home Bound Program./ppSalary: $20.88 - $21.98 per hour, this is a non-exempt hourly position based on a 35 hours work week or a $38,000 or $40,000 annually. Location: 402 East 152nd Street, Bronx, NY, 10455./ppEssential Duties and Responsibilities:/pulliAssist with all aspects of weekly food deliveries including lifting, moving, cleaning and organizing of food equipment, furniture, etc. in the hub and/or pantry./liliReceive, unpack and restock cases of food, produce, frozen and refrigerator food items./liliAs requested, conduct and maintain product inventory and report information to supervisor./liliMaintain food safety protocols for food storage, inventory, equipment and premises./liliWork closely with FON staff and CCCS personnel to ensure smooth program operations./liliKeep facilities and equipment clean and organized based on NYC Dept. of Health regulations./liliHelp with the set-up and close-down of food hub and pantry as requested./liliWork closely with volunteers, interns, and other personnel as assigned./liliWork closely with the Case Management staff, other CCCS programs/staff and affiliate agencies./liliAssist Supervisor, department staff and/or other agency personnel as needed to support operations./liliAbility to travel to various pantry sites and provide support as needed./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulpPosition Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm. Additional hours may be required to meet program deadlines./ppWorking conditions and physical demands required:/pulliMoving and lifting boxes, pallets, and/or cases of food products 50% of time, sometimes outside in cold weather./liliDriving and travel within NYC at least 30% of the time using company vehicle./liliFamiliarity with NYC streets/roads/highways, traffic laws and parking regulations./liliTraverse neighborhoods that may require a high level of alertness and awareness of surroundings./liliWork with clients who require consistent and comprehensive support, some under potentially stressful conditions./liliRemain in a stationary position at a workstation and use a computer approximately 20% of the time./li/ulpEducation and/or experience required:/pulliHigh School Diploma/Equivalency/liliSome familiarity with working in a small warehouse environment./liliSome knowledge of operating warehouse equipment (pallet jacket)/li/ulpSkills, Licenses, and/or competencies required:/pulliMust be able to lift and/or containers that weigh over 50lbs./liliMust have good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills./liliAbility to interact with diverse population of the public and work in various communities./liliMust maintain excellent relationships with internal personnel and external partners./liliMust be a team player and be supportive of program and community development projects./liliMay be required to work some holidays, evening and/or weekend hours./liliDrivers License Preferred./li/ulpCatholic Charities and Catholic Charities Community Services is an equal opportunity employer.
