This isn't another SaaS platform or AI wrapper. The business is building proprietary data infrastructure that powers next-generation AI products, solving complex information retrieval and data engineering challenges at a scale few startups encounter. Following significant commercial traction and recent strategic partnerships, they're growing a small, exceptional engineering team and are looking for someone who enjoys difficult technical problems and genuine ownership. The Opportunity You'll join a highly technical team where engineers own problems from concept through production. Projects include: Building large-scale data pipelines that transform unstructured information into structured datasets Designing highly reliable ingestion systems and distributed collection infrastructure Developing backend services, APIs and developer tooling Solving complex search, indexing and entity resolution problems Improving data quality, benchmarking and evaluation across core platform services Building production systems that directly power customer-facing AI products You'll have significant influence over architecture, engineering standards and technical direction from day one. Skills & Tools Python TypeScript Docker GCP Elasticsearch The company values strong engineering judgement over experience with any specific framework. Qualifications 2+ years building production backend systems Strong Python and SQL skills Experience designing data pipelines or distributed backend systems Exposure to cloud infrastructure and DevOps Excellent engineering fundamentals and a bias towards ownership Startup experience or experience working in high-performing engineering teams An interest in modern AI tooling and how it's changing software development Engineers who regularly build side projects, contribute to open source or maintain an active GitHub profile will stand out.
