Physical Therapist - Part Time Inpatient

About this Job MedStar Health is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our team at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services to patients, including screening and evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, re-assessment and revision, patient/client re-evaluation, discharge planning, and documentation in a variety of settings. The Physical Therapist participates in program planning and protocol development as requested, and assists the team in meeting established goals. Responsibilities Provide evaluation services, including review of pertinent historical information, performance of specific assessments, determination of recommendations, and documentation of results. Explain evaluation findings and treatment plan to patient and family, incorporating them into goal setting. Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation findings, patient’s presentation, and evolving health care environment. Consult with other healthcare professionals as indicated and document changes in patient’s condition that require modification of the plan of care or medical/rehabilitation consultation. Complete discharge planning and follow-up care, documenting and charging for patient care activities accurately and timely. Maintain a clear picture of the patient’s course of care, including initial evaluation/plan, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation. Demonstrate effective time management, meet productivity expectations, and maintain an accurate schedule. Provide frictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and empathetic actions and behaviors in a consumer-driven environment. Pursue and direct continuing education for professional growth and competency. Serve as a clinical instructor, assign students, and assist with orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, volunteers, and technicians. Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. Licensure in Maryland, District of Columbia, and/or Virginia, as required for the specific location.
