Travel RN – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 9-bed PICU at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1–2; stepdown ratio of 1:2–3
• Perform procedures including IV starts, catheterizations, central line dressing changes, hemodynamic monitoring, trach care, tube feeding and placement, ICP monitoring, and ventilator management
• Assist with and support lumbar puncture procedures
• Document patient care accurately using the Cerner electronic health record system
• Float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed per unit policy
• Adhere to scheduling requirements, including working 3 weekends per 6-week schedule cycle

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina or a compact state
• Current PALS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required; 2 years preferred
• Proficiency with Alaris infusion pumps
• Experience with Cerner documentation system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of PICU nursing experience
• Experience with ventilator management and ICP monitoring in a pediatric setting
• Familiarity with pediatric stepdown care environments
