Schedule: Full-Time Rotating shifts: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday No weekends No holidays No call requirements Must be available to work both shifts

Typical Day: Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures. Remove and collect polyps as directed during procedures. Label and document procedural images. Document and process specimens accurately. Upload and maintain patient charts and procedure documentation. Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies. Support the clinical team to ensure efficient patient flow. Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with departmental standards. Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and quality assurance protocols. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to provide exceptional patient care. Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors. Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities: The Endoscopy Specialist, as an empowered team member must be optimistic, enthusiastic, and able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel. Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Manager and Nurse Manager. Completes unit-specific educational requirements as well as system-wide competencies. Assist with motility studies as necessary. Assist with preparation and recovery of Endoscopy patients as needed. Utilizes standard precautions when providing care. Displays and applies the principles of asepsis. Work collaboratively with the RN to maximize efficient intra-procedure practices, minimize turnover times and promote prudent use of resources in the delivery of quality patient care. Displays ability to trouble shoot and adjust approach to recognize specific clinical situations based upon acquired knowledge and clinical experience. Performs assist/scrub role on cases and directly assists the physician. Demonstrates knowledge of disinfection/sterilization methods, monitors parameters, and understands scope processing procedures through competencies. Prepares patient for Endoscopic procedure. Ensures integrity of sterile packages is maintained before use. Ensures the Endoscopy suite is properly decontaminated between procedures. Maintain and establish departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environment, and infection control standards, current literature, in-services, and workshops.

Endoscopy Tech with SGNA certification or graduate of CAAHEP approved Surgical Technology program with current license or graduate of Licensed Practical Nurse program with current license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or successful completion of BLS training and certification upon hire. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: License and Certification allows for ONE of the following: SGNA Associates Program Certificate OR Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) *SGNA Associates Program (Certificate) expires after 5 years and must be re-acquired prior to expiring. Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) OR SGNA Associates Program (Certificate) Act 34. Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
