Fluids Analyst II - Lunar Permanence

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will work to design, analyze, build, test, integrate, deliver, and operate fluids and propulsion subsystems on Lunar landers. Special Mentions: Relocation provided

Occasional travel up to 15% of the time

1st Shift: 8am – 5pm

Interviews may include a technical assessment

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Generate and run thermo-fluids models of cryogenic propellant in spacecraft

Provide guidance on optimizing hardware configuration, mission conops and control logic

Quantitatively evaluate alternative trade studies and provide recommendations

Work with a cross functional team to advance the state of the art of in space cryogenic fluid management

Qualifications: B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field

3+ years of experience in thermal fluids analysis and mechanical component design

Proficiency in Thermal Desktop FloCAD and Sinda/Fluint with strong FORTRAN user-logic skills

Deep understanding of Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, and Thermodynamics

Hands-on experience with first-order and Excel-level fluids calculations

Desired: Advanced Engineering degree

Prior spacecraft fluid systems experience

CFD expertise (ANSYS Fluent, FLOW3D)

Fluid network analysis tools (AFT Arrow/Fathom)

Experience with cryogenic, two-phase, and gaseous fluid systems

Hydrogen and oxygen systems background

Process automation scripting skills (VBA, MATLAB, Python, FORTRAN)

Base Pay Range for: CO applicants is $133,500.00 - $186,898.95
