Psychiatrist (Board Certified/Board Eligible)
VA Loma Linda Healthcare System - Loma Linda, CA
Duration: 12 months (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027) + 6-month option
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (40 hrs/week)
Clearance: NACI background check
REQUIREMENTS
Table Citizenship U.S. Citizen Degree MD or DO (VA-approved school) Residency ACGME/AOA-accredited psychiatry program completed License Current, full, unrestricted (any U.S. state) Board Status Board Certified OR Board Eligible Vehicle Valid CA driver's license, insurance, personal vehicle
WHAT YOU'LL DO

Psychiatric evaluations, medication management, crisis intervention
Inpatient/outpatient/ED care + telehealth (VA Video Connect)
Suicide risk assessments, hospitalization determinations
Team leadership, treatment planning, multidisciplinary collaboration
Supervise/teach psychiatric residents
Home visits in greater Los Angeles area

MUST HAVE

Proficiency in English
Malpractice insurance
Professional liability coverage

PREFERRED

VA/military healthcare experience
PTSD, substance abuse, geriatric psychiatry expertise
Telehealth experience

COMPLIANCE

VALLHS credentialing/privileging required before start
Random drug testing
Mandatory VA training (Privacy, Cyber Security, HIPAA, Fire Safety, Infection Control)
Government-furnished IT equipment only

COMPENSATION

Hourly rate - actual hours worked (up to 4,500 hrs/year)
Paid monthly in arrears
10 federal holidays - no work
Overtime/holiday pay = contractor responsibility (not billable)
