Position Overview

A well-established Knoxville law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support a busy and fast-paced civil litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal who is comfortable managing a significant caseload, understands the pace and demands of active litigation, and can confidently keep cases moving from initial filing through resolution.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting civil and business litigation matters , such as contract and business disputes, landlord/tenant matters, real estate disputes, business breakups, and other commercial litigation. Experience with personal injury matters is also helpful.

This is a genuinely high-volume litigation environment , so organization, follow-through, urgency, and the ability to manage competing deadlines are essential.

 Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive paralegal support for a high-volume civil and business litigation caseload
• Assist with business and commercial disputes, contract matters, landlord/tenant disputes, real estate litigation, and other civil matters
• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, notices, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and other litigation documents
• Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized electronic records
• Track court deadlines, discovery deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, and other key dates
• Coordinate discovery, including gathering documents, organizing productions, and assisting with responses
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, and other parties
• Assist attorneys with deposition, mediation, hearing, and trial preparation
• Review and organize records, exhibits, evidence, and other case materials
• Assist with personal injury matters as needed
• Maintain consistent follow-up across a large number of active matters
• Anticipate attorney needs and help ensure cases continue moving forward efficiently

Qualifications

• Prior paralegal or litigation support experience in a law firm environment
• Civil and/or business litigation experience strongly preferred
• Experience with business disputes, contracts, real estate disputes, landlord/tenant matters, or similar civil litigation is highly desirable
• Personal injury experience is a plus
• Strong understanding of the litigation process, court filings, discovery, and case deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a high-volume caseload
• Exceptional organization and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and adjust quickly as needs change
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with attorneys and other team members
• Strong sense of ownership, reliability, and follow-through
