GCP Data Engineer

Job Title

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Own the technology stack in the Google Cloud Platform and help drive the technical direction for our systems, technologies, and architecture.

2. Design architect data analytics solutions using Google.

3. Utilize terraform to securely deploy and manage infrastructure as code.

4. Be comfortable working cross-functionally with developers, cloud platform engineers, the business, and Cloud Service Provider on architecture design requirements for cloud application services.

5. Participate in and support application security reviews and threat modeling, including code review and dynamic testing.

6. Provide feedback to Application Portfolio Managers and Architects to help refine service design and security standards.

Required Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Cloud using Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Self-starter with an in-depth hands-on work experience with multiple large-scale implementations of applications in Google Cloud Platform. Expert in Data lake, lakehouse, Delta lake design and implementation. Expert in ETLs around Data using Google platform. Knowledge of leveraging terraform to manage infrastructure as code. Knowledge of and experience migrating, refactoring, and re-engineering complex enterprise applications from legacy platforms to cloud. Strong understanding and experience with common security libraries, security controls, and common security flaws. Knowledge of and experience designing and managing Cloud controls. Knowledge of Python, R. Handled and designed solutions around structured and unstructured data. Familiar with AI/ML concepts and platform offerings. Broad IT security experience and API security knowledge. Excellent and professional communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to articulate complex topics in a clear and concise manner.
