Language Requirements : English (C2 proficiency or equivalent) At Eni , we are seeking a Senior Crude Trader - Latin Americas to join Eni Trading & Shipping Inc . in Houston . You will be responsible for developing a trading portfolio and managing a P&L within established risk limits. You will focus primarily on Latin American crude oil markets while supporting senior traders across global crude trading activities. This role operates within an established Supply & Trading infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be an experienced crude trader with extensive knowledge of crude oil supply and demand dynamics across US domestic and international markets, as well as experience trading global arbitrage opportunities. - Minimum of 4 years of relevant crude trading experience, with a strong emphasis on the Latin American crude oil market.
- Spanish language skills are highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of crude oil market fundamentals, including supply and demand dynamics, pricing mechanisms, blending characteristics, logistics, regulations, operations and contractual terms used in the purchase and sale of crude oil.
- Knowledge and understanding of derivative and hedging transactions.
- Proven ability to develop and successfully execute trading strategies based on market analysis.
- Professional presence and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work effectively under pressure while exercising sound judgment.
- Specific areas of expertise include Latin American crude trading, derivatives, and contributing to the global trading book, particularly through the marketing of global equity crude into the US market.
- Develop a broad network of relationships to trade and optimize the value of crude barrels bought, sold, or blended across the Americas.
- Gather market data and conduct research on cargo and barge markets through third-party end users, traders, and brokers.
- Respond to and support the business needs of term partners and the home office.
- Communicate trades to the Middle Office through designated systems and management channels.
- Coordinate hedging strategies for traded cargoes, barges, and storage positions to take advantage of market structure and opportunities along the futures curve.
- Value and monitor the risk of the overall portfolio, maintaining accurate mark-to-market valuations.
- Contribute to the development of the overall trading strategy of the book in coordination with senior management.
- Identify, negotiate, and execute trades in the cargo and barge markets.
- Share market information and develop opportunities with other traders.
- Manage the physical execution aspects of transactions in coordination with Logistics.
- Exchange trade ideas and discuss supply and crude/condensate requirements with other blenders and end users.
- Negotiate terms and conditions within company guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures, Incoterms, pipeline specifications, NYMEX requirements, applicable regulations, and SOA procedures.
- Negotiate long-term contracts with counterparties.
- Comply with Credit Department policies and procedures.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
