As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active TS/SCI with Counterintelligence Polygraph clearance.

We are seeking an experienced Cisco Voice Engineer to support a mission critical, technology driven program for a key Government customer. This role focuses on designing, deploying, securing, and sustaining enterprise level Cisco Unified Communications solutions across a complex, highly secure environment. The System Engineer – Expert provides critical support in designing, documenting, and managing secure IT systems and infrastructure.

Compensation & Benefits

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Systems Engineer Expert (Cisco Voice) : $175,000 to $190,000

\n

Pay commensurate with experience.

\n

Systems Engineer Expert (Cisco Voice) Responsibilities Include

\n

\n
• Work onsite to support security engineering and accreditation tasks.
\n
• Work with Cisco Gateways and understand Cisco VolP technology.
\n
• Design, test, and deploy new Cisco Voice infrastructure (CUCM, Unity Connection, IM&P, UCCX).
\n
• Implement next generation voice system technologies and support first article engineering.
\n
• Participate in security accreditation activities for all voice systems.
\n
• Manage PKI/certificate requirements across Cisco UC components.
\n
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle maintenance for hardware and software.
\n
• Provide engineering support for new site standups, including dial plan design and endpoint provisioning.
\n
• Design, test, and deploy call center technologies (UCCX/UCCE), including user training and transition planning.
\n
• Execute tasks related to call routing, SIP trunking, SRST, CUBE, and gateway configuration.
\n
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to gather and refine system requirements.
\n
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, policies, and security procedures.
\n
• Work within a large scale enterprise IT environment with responsibilities specific to Cisco Voice and Unified Communications.
\n
• Partner with network engineering and telecom teams on integration activities involving telephony, call center systems, and network infrastructure.
\n
• Support secure communications devices and infrastructure, including VoIP phones, STEs, Viper phones, encryption devices, POTs/ISDN/leased lines, conference bridges, and call management servers.
\n
• Bridge complex technical implementation concepts into clear, security-compliant language for documentation and briefings.
\n
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

\n

Systems Engineer Expert (Cisco Voice) Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
\n
• Minimum of eleven (11) years of relevant Voice/UC engineering experience
\n
• Strong technical expertise in:
\n
• Experience supporting secure, enterprise scale voice environments
\n
• Ability to troubleshoot complex call routing, signaling, and interoperability issues
\n
• Strong communication skills for documentation, requirements analysis, and customer interaction
\n
• Advanced expertise in SIP signaling, call flows, and multi vendor integration
\n
• Experience with H.323 in mixed protocol environments
\n
• Cisco Certified Collaboration Professional (CCCP) or equivalent Cisco Collaboration certifications:
\n
• Avaya Communications Certification or experience supporting Avaya platforms in hybrid Cisco/Avaya environments
\n
• Experience with secure communications devices (VoIP endpoints, STEs, Viper phones, encryption devices)
\n
• Familiarity with government security accreditation processes and PKI/certificate management
\n
• Experience designing or supporting call center technologies (Cisco UCCX/UCCE or Avaya
\n
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
