Overview

Key West Historic Inns is seeking a friendly, energetic, and service-focused Breakfast Attendant to join our Food & Beverage team. If you enjoy starting the day with a positive attitude, connecting with guests, and creating a welcoming breakfast experience, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Breakfast Attendant, you will help ensure our guests start their day on a positive note by providing friendly and attentive service throughout breakfast. You will prepare and maintain the breakfast area, replenish food and beverage items, assist guests with menu offerings and special requests, and maintain a clean and inviting environment.

This role is ideal for someone who is personable, organized, attentive to detail, and passionate about creating memorable guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage with guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner during breakfast service.
• Set up and prepare the breakfast area prior to service, ensuring food, beverages, utensils, and supplies are properly stocked and presented.
• Maintain and replenish breakfast items throughout service to ensure consistent availability, freshness, and presentation.
• Assist guests with breakfast selections, beverages, dietary restrictions, and special requests.
• Maintain knowledge of breakfast offerings, ingredients, and common food allergens to accurately assist guests.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests, questions, and concerns.
• Collaborate with the Culinary team to ensure food is available, properly presented, and replenished throughout breakfast service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting breakfast area, including tables, counters, serving areas, and service stations.
• Clear and reset tables and guest areas throughout service as needed.
• Monitor food temperatures and follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Properly store, label, rotate, and dispose of food products according to established food safety procedures.
• Monitor inventory and communicate food, beverage, and supply needs to leadership.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and proactively, involving leadership when additional assistance is needed.
• Complete opening, closing, cleaning, and side work responsibilities as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, work areas, storage areas, and service stations.
• Follow all company policies, food safety requirements, and health and sanitation standards.
• Work collaboratively with fellow team members and other departments to create a welcoming and enjoyable guest experience.
• Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or maintenance needs promptly to leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality, food service, restaurant, hotel, or guest service preferred.
• Friendly, energetic, and personable with a genuine passion for providing exceptional guest service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and fellow team members.
• Ability to anticipate guest needs and respond to requests in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, dietary restrictions, and proper food handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness, food quality, and presentation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods and perform the physical requirements of the position.
• Must meet the minimum age requirement of the jurisdiction.
• Ability to work an early morning schedule, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
