CMM Programmer Manufacturing Inspection Direct Bethlehem, PA, US Job Title: CMM Programmer Department: Quality Reports To: Quality Manager Direct Report(s): 0 Position Type: Full-Time Shift: 1st Job Summary: Responsible for programming and operating coordinated measurement machine to perform complex geometric dimensional inspections on first pieces, in-process, and finished products to ensure compliance to customer and print specifications. Provide the necessary support to engineering and production to achieve the desired optimal quality outcome. EssentialDutiesand Responsibilities: Develop,edit,andimplementexistingprogramsusingZeissCalypsosoftwarefrom3Dsolid-models and 2D drawings as per requirements. Write,edit,andmaintainCMMprogramsbasedoncustomer/companyspecificationsinafast-paced environment. Writingtheinspectioninstructionsforengineeringandqualityassuranceapprovalperapplicablequalityplans and customer specifications. Maintainandimprovelibraryofprogramstomaintaincurrentdrawingrevisions. Create,maintain,andfollowsecureandaccessibleCMMprogramfolderandfilestructures. Optimizeprogramsandprocessestomaximizeproductivityandqualitytoeliminatescrap. WorkingcloselyandassistingCMMoperatorsonbestpracticeswithbothmachineoperationand quality inspection methods. LeadintrainingofCMMuserstoimproveequipmentreliabilityandoperatorlevelofknowledge. Supporttheoperatorsin troubleshootingdailyissueswith CMMsonthe shop floor. ProgramandrunVision/Laser/TouchProbesystems.Developinspectionroutinesandmethods including concepts for fixtures and gages. Interpretblueprintsandspecificationsrelatedtogeometrictolerancing,gauging,statistical requirements, control plan and other customer/internal requirements. Inspectthefirstarticleparts,in-processandfinalinspectiononassemblies,andmaterialsfor workmanship and conformance to the specifications, drawings. Investigatingthefloorrejectsforroot causeandcorrective action. Participateinthematerialreviewactivitiestodeterminenonconformingproductdispositionsand corrective actions. Designanddeveloppart fixturingforpropermeasuringsetupwithinstructionfromseniorprogrammer. Responsibleformeeting21CFR820&ISO13485requirementsandprovidinganatmosphere and direction for continuous improvement. Willingnesstolearnnewtechnologiesandmachine/equipmentapplications. Alwaysmaintainacceptablehousekeepingstandardstoensureasafeandproductiveworkenvironmentforall employees. Minimum2years’experienceasaCMMProgrammerusingCalypsoandPCDMISsoftwarewith2 years’ experience as a quality inspector. Strongmanufacturingbackgroundinjobshopandadreamtoworkwithquality,engineering,and operations on the shop floor. Mustbeabletouseawiderangeofmeasurementdevicessuchasopticalcomparators,indicators, micrometers, verniers, threaded and straight pug gages, pitch micrometers, CMM, etc. Mustbeabletoreadandinterpretmechanicaldrawings,specificationsandinspectioninstructionsand determine product conformance based on such documents. Abilitytoidentifydifferentmaterialsandtheirrelationshiptodesign(form,fit,andfunction). ThoroughlyunderstandshowtoreadandinterpretGeometricDimensioningandTolerancing(GD&T)callouts onpartprintstoeffectivelyrunquality parts. Mustbeadaptabletoachangingenvironment,competingdemandsandisabletodealwellwith frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. Advancedmathematicalabilitiestoincludeknowledgeofarithmetic,algebra,geometry,calculus, statistics, and their applications. Criticalthinkingandadvanceddecision-makingskills. ComputerliterateinMicrosoftofficeproductsandQMS. Abilitytoread,comprehend,follow,anddocumentworkinstructions,blueprints,routers,andstandard operating procedures. Abilitytocommunicateandinteracteffectively,professionally,andconstructively. Complywithandmaintain5Sandsafeworkenvironmentpractices. Experiencedinamedicaldevice,ISO/FDA,jobshopenvironmentpreferred.
