Job Title: Registered Nurse - Critical Care Profession: RN Specialty: Critical Care Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Must have Epic experience License: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card - ONC Certification (Preferred) - PICC Certification (Preferred) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Preferred) - ONC/ONCC-CHIM Must-Have: - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred - Acute care facility experience preferred Description: Responsible for a group of patients during a designated shift. Prescribes nursing care based on the nursing process that aligns with the medical plan of care. Collaborates with physicians and other health care team members. Coordinates delivery of patient care across all age groups. Incorporates teaching and discharge planning into the overall plan of care. Delegates aspects of patient care based on staff's clinical competence and legal scope of practice. Utilizes the nursing process to assess patients and design individualized plans of care. Evaluates the effectiveness of care and modifies the plan as necessary. Considers the age-specific, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients. Collaborates with other disciplines to formulate the plan of care. Applies knowledge of illnesses, injuries, and developmental stages in patient care delivery. Utilizes pharmacology knowledge when preparing and administering medications and IV therapy. Provides education to patients and families throughout care delivery. Assesses patient knowledge and plans appropriate learning activities. Evaluates educational effectiveness based on feedback. Responds to emergency situations following established protocols. Oversees the delivery of patient care and ensures patient safety. Reports observations, reactions, and problems regarding patients in a timely manner. Demonstrates accountability for problem-solving and clinical decision-making. Ensures continuity of care by processing physician orders and treatment plans promptly. Sets appropriate priorities in patient care and adjusts to workload changes. Acts as the patient’s advocate, preserving patient rights. Delegates tasks to nursing assistants and student nurses based on their competence. Maintains responsibility for own actions and decisions. Practices nursing according to the state Nurse Practice Act. Utilizes communication skills to assure effective interaction with patients, families, and staff. Documents assessments, interventions, and care provided to patients. Performs technical aspects of patient care per established policies and adapts techniques to patient needs. Prepares and administers medications and IVs, considering age-specific needs. Performs emergency procedures and assesses patient response. Demonstrates safe use of equipment related to patient care. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
