This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) with weekends as scheduled. Required to work every other weekend and two Fridays per schedule.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our MedSurg units, providing exceptional patient care in an acute care setting. This role involves caring for a diverse patient population, including post-surgical and orthopedic patients, as well as those requiring palliative and hospice care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, including those requiring telemetry.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and families on care and health management.
• Adhere to infection control policies while managing 'clean' and 'dirty' patient assignments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current, unexpired RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to work with a diverse patient population and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Experience in MedSurg nursing preferred.

Unit1W MedSurg: (Cost Center 3427)
2E MedSurg: (Cost Center 3424) # beds
1W MedSurg = 28-Beds (all private)
2E MedSurg = 29-Beds (all private)
NOTE: 2E MedSurg includes 2N & 2S but they refer to entire area of 2E as all one big unit Certs BLS is the only required certification
Ratios1:6-7 Charge Nurse/House Supervisor
They have a Clinical Manager Mon-Sat who acts as both charge nurse & nurse manager. They don't take patients unless the census is greater than 24 then they will take patients.
Nights has a resource nurse who takes a full patient assignment.


Nurse Aides: Both 1W & 2E will each have 2 CNA's on Days but no CNA's on nights


Nurse's Read Strips? No Drips Heparin & possibly MSO4 for comfort measures, but no cardiac gtts Vents Bipap, Cpap, High Flow - all managed per RT


Tele They can have patients on remote tele but there are no monitors on this unit. Tele patients are monitored remotely by the monitor tech on the 3rd floor
