Lead Medical Assistant (Full Time)

Job Summary Full‑Time Lead Medical Assistant at Hack Riverside. The Lead Medical Assistant provides administrative support to physicians, physician assistants, and medical assistants/LPNs by way of supervision and staff development to provide a professional and effective medical operation. Previous healthcare and dermatology experience is required. Schedule: Full time, 30+ hours. Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours of 7am–7pm. Flexibility to cover shifts in a team environment is needed. Responsibilities Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care offered to patients and providers. Lead by example, maintain office presence and highest level of professionalism. Communicate effectively with office management to instill company values, vision, and protocols. Maintain thorough knowledge of all standard operating protocols and policies that pertain to the clinical department. Maintain thorough knowledge of all clinical treatments to appropriately care for patients’ needs, including pre‑care and post‑care instructions. Understand the provider‑to‑patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps. Assist the physician in medical, cosmetic, allergy, and/or laser procedures and prep exam rooms for all procedures while ensuring proper cleaning after each visit. Supervise and evaluate day‑to‑day duties of Medical Assistants/LPNs, ensuring adherence to company policies and opening/closing checklists. Monitor consumables and retail products, execute inventory counts, place orders via expense protocol, and maintain adequate medical supplies. Assure medical equipment is properly maintained and avoid running out of key items while minimizing waste. Assist providers in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, biopsies, cultures, photographs, prescriptions, prior authorizations, consents, and other procedures within established guidelines. Audit consumable tracker, laser logs, specimen logbooks and lab trackers; ensure all books are kept up to date. Coordinate with management to execute new protocols and provide training to new and current staff. Assist office management in supervising coverage for shifts when staff call out, are on emergency, or PTO; step in or cover shifts as needed. Enforce CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations and document incidents as required. Cross‑train for front‑desk coverage during emergencies. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor or office management on an as‑needed basis. Qualifications 2–3years of experience working in a dermatology or medical environment. Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems. Computer savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Excellent patient relationship and customer‑service skills. Professional, reliable, dedicated employee with strong critical‑thinking and problem‑resolution skills. Great multitasker. Open availability to work weekdays and weekends. Compensation Hourly Pay Range: $21.50–$27.00.
