Join us. ATI is seeking to hire a Rotational Process Control and Automation Engineer in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to support Level II automation for our Specialty Rolled Products business unit. Based in our Western Pennsylvania facilities, candidates would be involved in a three-year rotational program among the various facilities, gaining valuable exposure to the various operations and functional areas within the ATI Specialty Rolled Products Business Unit. Reporting into the Automation Team Manager, you will have responsibility for the architecture, modification, and maintenance of mission critical computer-based automation systems that are essential to accomplishing goals related to process and quality improvement, cost reduction, equipment obsolescence/integration, security, and automation improvement.In this role, you will be able to showcase your skills and have an ability to learn new technical skills. Technical skills that you will either use or learn includes:Programming using Object Oriented Programming tools (e.g., C++, C#, Java, .NET)Configuration, administration, maintenance, and upgrade of Windows PC & Server hardware/software.Web page development/maintenance/administration.Administration and maintenance of VMWare/HyperV-virtual machines, PC&A domains and Active Directory, Unix-based systems, DEC VMS, OS/2 systems, or DOS systems.Programming/administration using PowerShell, REXX, VB, Visual Studio, Delphi, and ColdFusion.Code management/collaboration tools (SVN).Essential FunctionsLead/participate in the design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and evaluation of new and existing computer-based automation systemsProject planning of computer-based automation system projects, including project scheduling, resource and budget planning, commissioning planningOversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure expected quality, timely delivery and within budgetDevelop, deploy, test and maintain SCADA system to ensure functionality and monitor systems to quickly address problems or adjust automated processesDesign, program, install and alter/modify HMIsResponsible for writing, maintaining and enhancing functional requirement and system documentationParticipation in world class safety programParticipate in capital projects as neededLead/participate in problem-solving activities; engineer and implement solutionsInteract with internal staff and shop floor personnel, as required, in the performance of job responsibilitiesOrganize and conduct auditsJob Requirements Basic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or similar fieldPreferred Qualifications Computer-based automation experience including process automation network infrastructures, security, firewalls, and reliabilityExperience with integrated system design, administration and maintenance in an industrial environmentSQL Server and Oracle database programming & administrationFamiliarity with interfaces to Level I (PLC), control systems, MES systems and business systemsWe thrive when the expectations are great, and the barriers are high.
