Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 34-bed Emergency Department serving a mixed patient population
• Manage drips and titrations in accordance with unit protocols and physician orders
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 4:1
• Float between two Emergency Department locations as needed
• Participate in holiday coverage, with an expectation to work 1–2 designated holidays per holiday period unless the unit is closed
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
• Minimum 24 months of current Emergency Room / Emergency Department experience
• Must have completed a travel contract within the previous 18 months
• AHA or ARC BLS – active and in-hand required
• AHA ACLS – active and in-hand required
• AHA PALS – active and in-hand required
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency) – active and in-hand required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification – required; may be obtained during onboarding
• EPIC EMR experience – required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (based on driver's license) to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Active de-escalation certification (CPI, MAB, MOAB, or SAMA) – highly preferred; candidates without active certification may be considered if obtained during onboarding
• NIH Stroke Scale certification active and in-hand prior to start
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
• Emergency Room-specific skills checklist completed at time of submission
