Senior Mechanical Designer

Department: Mechanical Employment Type: Full Time Location: Victor, New York Compensation: $62,500 - $77,000 / year Senior Mechanical Designer A Senior Mechanical Designer responsible for engineering HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for retail, restaurant, public infrastructure/facilities, and residential projects, with an emphasis on retail design. Key Responsibilities Develop mechanical drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Perform load calculations to determine system sizes. Ensure compliance with mechanical, plumbing, energy, and NFPA codes and specifications. Adhere to deadlines and work in a fast‑paced consulting environment. Conduct field visits to document and verify existing equipment and systems. Manage construction administration duties: answering RFIs, reviewing submittals, and resolving design/coordination issues with contractors. Coordinate mechanical systems and utility design with Electrical, Architectural, Civil, and Structural disciplines. Minimum Qualifications AS or BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited school. 3+ years of HVAC or Plumbing & Fire Protection design experience. 1+ year of AutoCAD education, training, or related experience. Preferred Qualifications BS or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited school. 5+ years of HVAC or Plumbing & Fire Protection design experience.
