Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: HVI Proc IR Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (4/9's) Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience License: RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Peripheral vascular work Venous central lines Tube changes Neuro experience (ideal) Embolization work (arterial/venous) Venous thrombectomy work Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process. The RN integrates nursing trends, technology, financial, and human resources within the philosophy of the institution. Responsibilities include performing all duties specific to the scope of service. The RN implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. They maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided. The RN completes an initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs. They implement the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. The RN modifies the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. They take responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents. The RN communicates directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. They offer constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers. The RN confers with colleagues to expand their knowledge base. They identify their own learning needs and take initiative to begin appropriate solutions. The RN fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies. Department-specific job functions include administering medications necessary for procedures. They manage care of patients during moderate sedation. The RN monitors hemodynamics throughout procedures. They provide outline documentation of procedure events. Understanding the use of supplies and equipment in various procedures is required.
