Requirements EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES High school diploma or equivalent, is required. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, required. Must be 21 years of age. Experience as a first responder, such as EMT, Fire Fighter, etc., would be helpful. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES A heart for service – compassion, respect and professionalism are key. Must have an elevated level of integrity and honesty. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Requires excellent physical health and good manual dexterity, which includes lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing at least 100 lbs. Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time. WORKING CONDITIONS The ability to work under tight deadlines in some situations. Must have a flexible schedule to be available for calls 24/7. Summary The Transport Driver is responsible for safely and professionally transferring the deceased from their place of death, i.e., a personal residence, nursing home, hospital, etc., and delivering them to the Care Center and/or selected Funeral Home location. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Respond to first calls from the dispatch service in a timely manner. Transport the decedent safely and professionally from place of death to the Care Center or the selected funeral home location. Communicate professionally and compassionately with families and facilities, offering comfort and counsel to families and friends of the deceased. Ensure proper handling and documentation of all transport details. Maintain cleanliness and readiness of transport vehicles and equipment. Ensure that the service is professional and is efficient and accurate with attention to details. Maintain records of all personal effects. Attendance at company‑based functions when required.
