Responsibilities
- Perform direct patient care: assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Complete patient documentation, including initial evaluations, plans of care, progress notes, and discharge reports.
- Contact insurance companies regarding benefits and coverage related to therapy services.
- Prepare for evaluation and treatment sessions; organize materials and equipment.
- Educate staff (nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service workers) on results and recommendations; provide guidance based on current research.
- Create in-service presentations and educational opportunities for staff.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver patient-centered treatment plans.
- Maintain clean treatment areas and equipment; ensure proper turnover between sessions.
- Provide reminder calls to patients and assist families in navigating the hospital system.
- Perform other duties as requested by the supervising team or department.

Requirements
- Ability to perform direct patient care for speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams in acute care/clinic settings.
- Ability to work in a hospital/clinical environment and manage a caseload within the assigned shift.
- Willingness to participate in staff education and in-service activities.
