JOB SUMMARY

Hands-on experience with precision CNC machining equipment and peripheral automation; maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components and systems.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Experience troubleshooting FANUC controllers and identifying related failure modes for the purpose of repairing, and restarting CNC equipment. Effectively read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC ladder and block logic. Repair and replace motors, amplifiers, transducers, servos and sensors. Perform skilled alignments of CNC spindles, turrets and tail stocks. Perform machine leveling and alignments on all equipment as required. Use machine tool manuals, technical documents along with internal and vendor resources to research machine issues for repair. Support electronic scheduled preventive maintenance by reading reports, performing job assignments and completing documents for closure. Perform work assignments with a sense of urgency with machine down conditions. In conjunction with production team, support continuous improvement with development of PM instructions and schedules to prevent recurring failure.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimally requires a thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance duties. Hands on troubleshooting, teardown, and repair experience required. Associates degree or technical education; or equivalent relevant experience. Minimum of three years’ experience working in a related environment with CNC equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic prints and related technical documentation. Ability to read and interpret PLC ladder logic. Previous experience with FANUC robots, controllers and peripheral equipment on R30iB and R30iA control platforms. Knowledge of older platforms is a plus. Previous experience with FANUC application software and programming is a plus. Lift up to 40 pounds without assistance, reaching, bending and standing for long periods of time is also required.
