SV013 - Full-Time Housekeeper / Cook - Bethesda, MD

Overview

A family is seeking a Housekeeper/Cook to support the daily operations of their home.

This is a hands-on household support role focused primarily on housekeeping, cooking, organization, and maintaining a well-run home. While there is some light childcare involved, the family is primarily seeking a candidate who takes pride in creating order, preparing meals, and helping the household run smoothly. The ideal candidate enjoys supporting families and notices what needs to be done without being asked.

The schedule currently runs Tuesday through Friday and guarantees 35 hours per week. The family is open to increasing the schedule to 40 guaranteed hours per week, including Mondays, for the right long-term fit.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are typically scheduled from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Wednesdays and Fridays generally run from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The family is looking for someone who feels like a steady, reliable presence in the home and who takes genuine pride in maintaining high household standards.

They are hoping to hire as soon as they find the right person.

Responsibilities

• Prepare simple, healthy meals for the family.
• Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and kitchen organization.
• Perform hands-on housekeeping, including cleaning, tidying, organizing, and maintaining common areas.
• Manage household laundry, linens, folding, and general household upkeep.
• Maintain an organized, well-stocked, and efficiently run home.
• Provide occasional childcare support as needed.
• Assist with school pickups when required.
• Support a calm, organized, and welcoming household environment.
• Take initiative and proactively identify ways to support the family's day-to-day needs.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Housekeeper, Family Assistant, Housekeeper/Cook, or similar household support role.
• Strong cooking skills and comfort preparing simple, healthy family meals.
• Excellent housekeeping and organizational skills.
• Warm, dependable presence with strong judgment and common sense.
• Comfortable around children and willing to provide occasional childcare support.
• Self-starter who takes initiative and works independently.
• Flexible mindset and willingness to support the household where needed.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Able to commit to a consistent Tuesday-Friday schedule, with openness to additional hours if desired.
• Comfortable performing hands-on cleaning as a significant part of the role.
• Able to provide strong references and pass a background screening.

Salary and Benefits

• $40 per hour.
• Guaranteed 35 hours per week, with the opportunity to increase to 40 hours for the right candidate.
