Primary Location: United States (US) – IL – Chicago Function: Technology Title: Staff Software Engineer - 2026013 Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position Your Responsibilities Analyze business needs and determine software specifications; Lead design review activities to verify and demonstrate high-quality output for the data products and digital products; Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to ensure that features meet business needs; Collaborate with architecture team and principal engineers to develop coding standards, and data pipeline standards; Collaborate with engineers to improve quality, cost, and help in developing efficient software applications; Lead efforts to implement best practices for software development, test automation and CI/CD; Follow industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation; Follow Security by design principles to design security framework around data pipelines and APIs; Lead effort to set up team member onboarding processes and guidelines; Mentor software engineers within the team and across multiple products; Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite. 50% remote work allowed. What Skills You Need 5 years of experience providing leadership in full SDLC execution for applications, including requirement analysis, architecture design, development, integration, mentoring, code reviews, cross-team leadership, ownership of delivery, and end-to-end testing; 5 years of experience performing Design, development, and maintenance scalable database solutions using MongoDB and DynamoDB, including data modeling, query optimization, and seamless integration with Java based applications; 5 years of experience building enterprise-grade web applications using Java technologies (Java Frameworks, Servlets, JSP, J2EE) along with PHP, Design Patterns, HTML, AJAX, React and JavaScript to deliver secure and high-performance solutions; 5 years of experience engineering backend services using Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Spring Security, and Aspect-Oriented Programming ensuring secure and modular service implementations; Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field plus 5 years related experience.
