Help Desk TechnicianA leading automotive manufacturer in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Help Desk Technician to provide first-level technical support across its operations. This role is crucial to maintaining seamless IT service delivery for internal users in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.Key Responsibilities:Deliver first-line technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues via phone, email, and onsite interactionTroubleshoot and resolve issues involving Windows OS, Office 365, network connectivity, and mobile devicesSet up, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, and peripheralsLog and track support tickets using a ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow), ensuring timely resolution and follow-upManage user accounts in Active Directory, including password resets, account creation, and permissions changesSupport hardware maintenance and inventory managementEnsure high-quality customer service by following up with users and documenting solutionsCollaborate with IT staff to escalate and resolve complex issuesRequired Qualifications:2–5 years of experience in an IT help desk or technical support roleStrong knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, and basic networking principlesFamiliarity with remote desktop tools and Active DirectoryExperience using IT ticketing systems (ServiceNow preferred)Strong communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and resolve issues efficiently in a high-demand environmentHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field preferredRelevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft) are a plusPreferred Skills:Previous experience supporting users in a manufacturing or industrial environmentKnowledge of ITIL best practicesFamiliarity with enterprise device imaging tools and inventory systemsAdditional Information:Work Hours: Monday–Friday, standard business hours; flexibility required for occasional after-hours supportLocation: Must be onsite at the Huntsville, AL facilityDuration: Contract position with potential for long-term engagement or conversion
