Lead Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Lead Estimator for a key opportunity with an established estimating team. The company is open to hiring either a Principal Estimator or a Head Estimator, based on the candidate's leadership background. This role is based in Fort Wayne, IN, and relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.The team works on negotiated and hard-bid projects in various sectors including industrial, higher education, restaurants, and non-profit construction, with project values ranging from $100,000 to $100 million.ResponsibilitiesCreate estimates from conceptual to construction-document stageAnalyze drawings, specifications, scopes, and self-performed workConduct digital quantity takeoffs and establish accurate pricingUtilize Timberline for estimating and Procore for subcontractor engagementDevelop relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, owners, and architectsGenerate preconstruction, procurement, and construction schedulesProduce work packages and turnover materials for project managementEnhance estimating processes, precision, and project transitionsLead the department at the Head level, allocate workloads, mentor estimators, and ensure accountabilityRequirementsExtensive experience in commercial construction estimating, typically seven years or moreLeadership experience in an estimating department for consideration at the Head levelBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fieldThorough understanding of commercial plans, specifications, and CSI divisionsFamiliarity with estimating and digital takeoff softwareExcellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilitiesPreference for experience with Timberline, Procore, Microsoft Project, Excel, and WordBenefitsHealth insurance with 90% of employee premiums coveredThree weeks of vacation plus five wellness daysTraditional and Roth 401(k) with immediate 100% match up to 4%Bonus potentialReimbursement for education, mileage, and business expensesRelocation assistance providedOpportunities for leadership development and career progression
