We are in search of a Quality Control Technician who will be working out of our Norwood, NJ location. The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, evaluating, and analyzing/testing the raw materials and finished products by performing basic sensory and/or analytical tests to ensure compliance with specifications, standards and product safety regulations.What You'll DoReceive and analyze raw materials comparing physicals, utilizing QC measurements such as: specific gravity, refractive index, melting point, GC to determine the physical characteristics of the sample.Prioritize approvals dependent on daily order reports.Receives and analyzes production finished product and samples to standard.Generates COA's and spec sheets for production samples, including cosmetic material samples.Maintains QC laboratory in accordance with standard lab practices for cleanliness and organization.Maintains computer files containing QC information in an organized.Accurately record and communicate finished product rejections and information updates to key contacts in Quality, Operations, Purchasing and Customer Service as needed.Utilize all types of communications include e-mail and maintain appropriate notes in system.Collaborate with department leads to resolve problem samples and customer rejections.Work with procurement when an out of spec fragrance is salvageable and provide rework direction.Participate in customer complaint investigations related to product quality.Identify opportunities for improvements in QC.Maintain work in a hygienic and safe work environment.Provide backup and support to team members as required, including administrative QC tasks and other duties as required.Perform other duties as assigned.What You BringBachelor's degree, Chemistry, Biology or equivalentOne to two years work experience in QC lab environment.Must have basics of olfactive sensory evaluation - Compounding experience helpfulStrong knowledge of lab system, analytical equipment and instrumentsGood safe handling knowledge working with chemical substances, hazardous material and regulations.What We OfferPosition Salary:$60k-$68kEffective 06/1/2025 NJ passed a Pay Transparency Law which requires NJ based hiring to include a compensation range on each job posting.
