Pay: Starting rate based on experience with growth up to $23/hour

About the Role

Homewatch CareGivers of Portland is hiring a Hybrid Caregiver and Office Support Specialist. This role is designed for experienced caregivers who want to expand their skills while continuing to provide hands-on care.

At least 50 percent of this role is hands-on caregiving at all times. This requirement is non-negotiable.

In this role, you won’t just show up — you’ll set the tone. As the very first in-home representative our clients meet, you’ll create trust, comfort, and confidence from day one. You’ll use your sharp eye and strong instincts to notice what others might miss, identifying unmet needs and helping shape care plans that truly reflect each client’s reality. You’ll play an active role in refining and elevating the support we provide, all while keeping clear, accurate documentation that ensures our entire team stays aligned. This is a role for someone who loves being proactive, takes pride in the details, and understands that first impressions — and follow-through — matter.

About Homewatch CareGivers

We provide in-home support services to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those recovering from illness or injury. Work is performed in clients’ homes and may include:

- Assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Monitoring and documenting client conditions
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Meal preparation
- Companionship
- Assistance with scheduling and organization

Primary Responsibilities – Caregiving

- Fill same-day shifts when coverage is needed
- Work the first three shifts for newly onboarded clients
- Provide personal care, companionship, and daily assistance
- Support appointments and errands
- Observe and document client needs
- Serve as the first caregiver new clients meet

Client Onboarding and Care Plan Support

- Act as the first in-home representative of the company
- Identify unmet needs and communicate observations
- Support updates to care plans
- Complete documentation accurately and promptly

Office and Administrative Support (As Scheduled)

- Answer phones and make outbound calls
- Assist with scheduling and coordination
- File and organize documents
- Work in OneDrive and email systems
- Maintain a clean and sanitary office environment
- Provide general office support

Physical Requirements

- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bending and stooping frequently. Must be able to life 50 pounds regularly.

- Must be physically capable of assisting clients with limited mobility.
- Must be able to perform safe transfers
- Must be able to support non-ambulatory clients

Scheduling Expectations

- Flexible availability required
- Not an on-call role, but same-day shift support is expected
- Office time is not guaranteed weekly
- Frequent refusal of caregiving shifts will not be acceptable

Pay and Growth Opportunity

- Starting rate based on experience
- Earn $1/hour increase for every 10 different clients successfully supported
- Growth up to $24/hour

Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years caregiving experience (Required)
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
- Must pass background check
- US Citizenship (Required)
- Reliable transportation
- Smartphone with internet access (for clock-in/out app)
- Ability to provide two forms of identification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional and positive attitude
