Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our float pool team. This position involves providing high-quality care in various units, specifically focusing on the Medical/Surgical and Telemetry patient populations. The ideal candidate should be flexible and ready to adapt to diverse patient needs across different units.

Shift Details

• Rotating shifts: Night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) and Day (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Variable shifts may be required to meet operational needs

Job Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry units, ensuring adherence to standards of care.
• Float to specific units as needed, primarily J1-2, J33, and Emergency Department.
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, including administering medications and treatments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans.
• Document patient assessments and progress accurately in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 months of combined permanent experience in the specialty, with at least 18 months of recent Medical/Surgical Telemetry experience.
• Active Ohio nursing license or compact state license required at the time of submission.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) are mandatory.
• Travel experience is preferred but not required.

Additional Information

• Must work every other holiday as part of the commitment to patient care.
• All required assessments to be completed during orientation.
• Candidates must be nicotine-free, with a negative drug screen required within 12 months of starting.
• Annual Hands-On Competency Requirement must be completed if returning on a subsequent contract in the following year.
