Schedule

This position follows an alternating weekly schedule:

Weekdays

• Week 1: Opening shift, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Week 2: Closing shift, 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM

Weekends

• Work every other weekend
• Schedule: Saturday & Sunday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Overtime, holidays, and additional weekend hours may be required based on business needs.

Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Floor Technician is responsible for accurately picking, labeling, scanning, and preparing prescription orders for final verification by a licensed pharmacist. This role plays a vital part in ensuring patients receive medications accurately, safely, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Fill daily medication orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Pick and pull medications from shelving and medication storage areas.
• Label, package, and prepare prescription orders for pharmacist verification.
• Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for quality and accuracy checks.
• Notify the pharmacist of any medication or product that does not scan properly.
• Assist with processing returned medications and recycling or disposing of medications according to established procedures.
• Support prepackaging of frequently ordered medications during low-volume periods.
• Package materials and products manually as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and replenish necessary supplies.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and company regulations, including HIPAA requirements.
• Adhere to company policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to work at a moderate pace while maintaining accuracy.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Possess and maintain a current, active, and unrestricted Texas Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy technician experience.
• Experience working in a high-volume pharmacy or fulfillment environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and bend throughout the workday.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, typically 7 to 10 hours per day.
• Ability to work extended hours when needed.
• Manual dexterity required to handle medications, labels, and related equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Strong visual acuity, including close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to hear and respond to normal voice communication.
