Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery (L&D) Travel Position

Location: Plano, TX Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 312s Days Pay: $2,365.20/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Labor & Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Plano, TX on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. The ideal candidate is experienced in obstetric nursing, adaptable in high-acuity environments, and committed to delivering safe, family-centered, evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, uterine contractions, and labor progression, intervening as needed.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, including induction agents, epidurals, and IV therapies.
• Assist physicians, midwives, and the care team during deliveries and obstetric emergencies.
• Educate mothers and families on labor, postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record.
• Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and evidence-based practices in L&D care.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in Texas (or compact eligibility).
• Minimum 12 years of recent L&D nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); ACLS preferred.
• Strong assessment, decision-making, and communication skills under pressure.
• Compassionate and family-centered approach to patient care.
• COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
