Description American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Neuro Telemetry unit requiring active KY or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience. Details Acute care hospital setting on a 5A Neuro Telemetry unit 22-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6 Patient population includes acute stroke, neuro, and general medical floor patients EPIC EMR used for charting RNs are not required to titrate drips Charge nurse present each shift and takes a patient assignment Nurse aides/patient care techs available with varying ratios Respiratory therapy manages BiPap and High Flow equipment; RN may troubleshoot only Centralized telemetry monitoring with RN required to review strips each shift Night shift schedule with self-scheduling subject to change for balanced coverage Weekend requirement of 6 shifts within a 6-week period Floating required, may be pulled to other floors No call or standby requirements Requirements Active KY or Compact RN license required, pending licenses not accepted BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of RN experience required BSN not required for this position Active certifications must be current, pending certifications not accepted Copy of driver’s license required for consideration Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility Additional Information Provide direct patient care to stroke and neuro patients on a telemetry unit Review telemetry strips each shift as part of patient monitoring responsibilities 1-2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided Holiday coverage required for 2 summer holidays and 3 winter holidays First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-associated facility within the past year These details are based on information provided by the facility and may include inaccuracies or be subject to updates.
