DescriptionThe Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Montana State Hospital.The Admissions Manager is an active member of the Social Services Leadership Team and is responsible for coordinating the admission of patients to Montana State Hospital. In addition, DPHHS is the largest state agency with a wide range of advancement opportunities whether you are joining the workforce or have several years of experience.QualificationsRequired for the first day of work:Knowledge of clinical methods and best practices within an acute psychiatric care setting.Understanding of state mental health commitment laws, court processes, and admission criteria in a psychiatric setting.Ability to review and apply statutes, administrative rules, and hospital policies in actual situations.Skilled in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with referral sources, courts, law enforcement, and community providers.Ability to model effective communication, verbally and in writing.Ability to compose and provide information in the form of reports and complete clinical documentation.Effective interviewing and information gathering techniques.Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including using spreadsheets, word processing, database, email, internet, and other computer programs.Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):Bachelor degree in Psychology, Social Work, or directly related healthcare field required.2 years experience working in a mental health psychiatric or social service support setting required.2 years experience in a supervisor or manager capacity required.Other combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.Job Type: StandardShift: Day JobTravel: Yes, 5 % of the Time
