Job Description

The Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator is responsible for supporting the daily purchasing and inventory functions of the company. This position works closely with production, warehouse personnel, suppliers, and management to ensure raw materials and operating supplies are ordered, received, and maintained accurately. The ideal candidate enjoys staying organized, solving problems, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and process purchase orders for raw materials, packaging, and operating supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels and replenish materials to maintain production requirements.
• Follow up with suppliers regarding order confirmations, delivery dates, and shipping status.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records within the ERP system.
• Verify pricing and assist in resolving invoice discrepancies.
• Coordinate with warehouse personnel regarding incoming deliveries and inventory transactions.
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives.
• Help identify purchasing trends and opportunities for cost savings.
• Maintain vendor files and purchasing documentation.
• Communicate material shortages or delivery concerns to appropriate departments.
• Assist with continuous improvement projects within the purchasing and inventory departments.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
  

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of purchasing, inventory, customer service, manufacturing, or administrative experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working with computer systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with ERP or inventory management software.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
